CAFHE Team in North-West Province Strengthens Networks, Nears Full Staffing

USAID/South Africa is dedicated to supporting the South African Government (SAG) in achieving and sustaining HIV epidemic control and enhancing health security. The Children, Adolescents, and Families in the HIV Epidemic in North-West Province (CAFHE) programme aims to achieve the 95-95-95 goals amongst the supported population groups by 2029 and sustain epidemic control by ensuring equitable access to health/HIV and social services for children and adolescents affected by HIV and strengthening local social service systems to provide an effective response.

We are pleased to announce that the CAFHE team in the North West Province is now 90% staffed, with 3 linkage officers, an M&E coordinator, Logistics and Fleet coordinator, two Capacity Development Officers in place a cleaner to still be appointed. This is a significant achievement for HIVSA in the region, as it underscores our commitment to building a robust and responsive team capable of driving our mission forward. A well-staffed team means more efficient service delivery, better support for affected children and adolescents and their families, and a stronger capacity to meet our 95-95-95 goals.

Moreover, the team has begun networking with various key stakeholders in the region, including the Departments of Health and Social Development, District Support Partners and other NGOs working in the province, which is crucial for building a comprehensive and coordinated response to the HIV epidemic. Effective networking and collaboration with stakeholders enhance our ability to leverage resources, share knowledge, and implement best practices.

In addition, the Johannesburg team has visited the site to support and capacitate the North-West team, ensuring they are fully functional and capable of continuing HIVSA’s impactful work. This support is vital for the team’s operational readiness and success.

We are also looking forward to upcoming visits from our CEO and Finance Manager in August. These visits will provide further encouragement and support to the North-West team, reinforcing our commitment to the CAFHE programme’s growth and success.

We wish the CAFHE team in the North-West well and look forward to seeing the programme grow from strength to strength, driving us closer to achieving and sustaining HIV epidemic control.
