The overall purpose of the department within which the HSS Project Manager resides, is to empower and support individuals, community workers and organizations, and various strategic partners by developing their capacity through various donor funded programs to effectively address psycho-social and health issues in the context of a high HIV and AIDS burden with the ultimate vision of creating an HIV free generation.
Job Purpose |
The Digital Media Project Manager will be responsible for the management of HIVSA’s various digital media innovations and support the marketing and communications activities. He/She will provide daily and operational oversight of the Project including all support, supervision of the team and reporting as required by HIVSA. The Project Manager will keep abreast of developments in the social media, digital communications sector, as well as the HIV and Health and Wellness field and continuously. |

- To contribute to new and additional funding requirements for projects, assist with developing funding proposals for submission to potential funders.
- Deliver on activities assigned in HIVSA’s strategic groups and which relate to digital interventions and marketing and communications.
- To contribute to the development of the organization’s overall strategy, design, and implementation of projects.
- To contribute to business development, proposal development and resource mobilization initiatives.

Financial Management |
- Review and approve requests for resources.
- Working closely with Program Director, Finance, procurement and HR teams, monitor payments and allocation of funds against the budget.
- Ensure that HIVSA financial policies and procedures are followed.
- Records are kept for audit purposes.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, organizational policies, and donor regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management |
- Identify opportunities for advancing the digital media project
- Develop and maintain contacts/relationships with relevant Government Departments, funders, external stakeholders, implementation partners and HIVSA projects and programmes and other civil society organisations in South Africa
- Work closely with donors to ensure alignment of the programme to donor needs and ensure that donor needs are integrated into the programme
- Develop and maintain relationships with Community Based Organisations, schools, TVET colleges and other stakeholders relevant to promoting and advancing the programme.
- Join networks and forums which are relevant to, and can be supportive of achieving HIVSA's vision and mission.
- Conduct and attend stakeholder meetings on a regular basis (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually).
- Attend funder meetings as & when requested.

- Designing, scheduling and posting content on all Choma social media platforms whilst maintaining the Choma look and feel.
- Develop content plans and copywriting for posts.
- Design content in keeping with Choma Corporate Image.
- Schedule posts on Choma social media channels.
- Contribute to the re-design and optimisation of Choma social media platforms.
- Maintain Choma social media platforms in optimal functioning order.
- Provide monthly performance analytics across all platforms.
- Contribute to HIVSA’s social media efforts that require Choma alignment to HIVSA.
- Provide weekly and monthly analytical and analysis reports across all social media platforms including website and mailing system.
- Design and execute digital marketing campaigns on all Choma platforms and monitor the performance of such campaigns against the marketing spend.
- Documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping of all project data.
- Approve program documents and ensure up to date record keeping according to program standards.
- Review presentations and reports and ensure correct up to date data is utilized.
- Compile and review monthly as well as quarterly reports.
- Management of Data quality across all digital platforms.
- Monitor and recommend emerging and relevant digital platforms where Choma should be present.

- To ensure HIVSA policies, procedures, and SOPs are implemented and complied with.
- Drivers are approved and monitored, and in some cases be responsible to drive self and others to sites using HIVSA fleet.
- Collaborate with all team members within HSS and HIVSA to foster programs integration.
- Represent teams and program in HIVSA management meetings and provide feedback to the team.

- Assist with staff recruitment, advertising, shortlisting and interviewing of new staff.
- Lead program performance management and address non-performance.
- Manage and supervise staff ensuring they have the required support, resources, and guidance to carry out their duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications and PR and Digital Marketing;
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ experience in a digital marketing setting highly desirable;
- Proficiency in design software and ability to create own designs highly recommended with a skills levels of a medium to a high eg Adobe, CANVA etc.
- At least 3 years’ experience in managing a team and working closely with sub-partners.
- Experience in a non-profit environment highly recommended.
- Experience of using digital marketing tools such as mailchimp, hootsuit meta business suite etc
- Ability to utilize digital performance tools such as google analytics at a bare minimum to track programme performance and course correct.
- Competencies / Skills / Attributes / Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including NGO partners and national and local government institutions at all levels.
- Understanding and knowledge of the South African digital media space.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, planning and risk management.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working Environment:
- Support program teams based in other regions as and when needed.
- Follow a hybrid model of remote and office-based attendance as per company policy.
- Participate in high level on-site based activities to support program and implementation which include donor or other stakeholder site visits.
- May be required from time to time to travel to events outside of the normal office environment.
- May be required from time to time to participate in events and sessions outside of normal working hours.
