Department of Health and Social development. We innovatively transform and empower individuals, socio-economic and health challenges that burden communities.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The overall purpose of the department within which the PHVP Nurse resides, is to empower individuals, community workers and organizations, and various strategic partners by developing their capacity through various donor funded programs to effectively address psycho-socio and health issues in the context of a high HIV and AIDS burden with the ultimate vision of creating an HIV free generation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a National Diploma in Nursing, or an equivalent, covering maternal health, child, and community health.
- Registered with Nursing Council of South
- Certification in facilitation would be an
- NIRMART Certificate would be an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in community-based
- Must have experience in a primary health care, clinical or community
- Sound knowledge of HIV and Antiretroviral
- Sounds knowledge of Prep activities
Competencies / Skills / Attributes / Knowledge:
- Understanding and knowledge of the South African social services and healthcare delivery system.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of South Africa’s health and social service information systems and monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Sound understanding and support of Monitoring and Evaluation requirements and
- Strong supervision and mentorship
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and work towards
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and communication skills, both written and
Working Environment:
- The role is based in the GP Province, the incumbent may be required from time to attend
meetings at HIVSA’s Head Office located in Aeroton, Johannesburg.
- Support program teams based in other regions as and when
- Follow a hybrid model of remote and office-based attendance as per company
- Participate in high level on-site based activities to support program and implementation which include donor or other stakeholder site visits.
- May be required from time to time to travel to events outside of the normal office
- May be required from time to time to participate in events and sessions outside of normal working hours.
