Payroll Coordinator : Gauteng Province (Fixed term contract of 10 months )

MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The overall purpose of this role is to maintain the payroll support function for the HIVSA-SEF “Work for Common Good” project , to ensure accurate and timeous payment of 1000 participants. The position reports to HIVSA’s HR Manager.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Matric/Grade 12
Diploma in accounting, finance or relevant field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role
  • Familiarity with payroll processes
  • Comfortable with Excel (functions, data etc.)
  • An analytical mind with good math skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Preferably having working experience in an NGO environment.
  • Computer literacy to work mainly on the MS Office suite, with knowledge of Kwantu System being advantageous .
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to handle pressure , with high levels of patience and tolerance
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence (of more than 3 years) and be familiar with driving manual vehicles, as they would be driving themselves for spot checks to sub-partners

Key Performance Areas:

  • Process attendance records and biometric data
  • Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
  • Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)
  • Oversee monthly payfile preparation and issuance of payslips
  • Update data with wage adjustments (locality and site level biometric data)
  • Handle participant disciplinary issues
  • Produce required reports to management upon request
  • Supervision of HR Administrators.
  • Assisting with implementing and communicating company policies and procedures to participants
