MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of the social worker is to provide supportive supervision, and guidance to the Community Care Workers (CCWs). The Social Worker provides direct supervision and performance management to the CCWs, by tracking their targets, managing their caseloads, support CCWs with difficult cases, review and sign of CCWs case files before capturing and ensuring that quality services are provided to beneficiaries by the CCWs.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in childcare, social work services, community work and / or working closely with CBOs.
Competencies / Skills / Attributes / Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including NGO partners and national and local government institutions at all levels.
- Understanding and knowledge of the South African social services and healthcare delivery system.
- Strong people and inter-personal skills, as well as supervision and mentorship skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Working Environment:
- Support teams based in other districts as and when needed.
- Participate in high level on-site based activities to support program and implementation which include donor or other stakeholder site visits.
- May be required from time to time to travel to events outside of the normal office environment.
- May be required from time to time to participate in events and sessions outside of normal working hours.
Additional Organizational Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license required, and an active driver.
- Valid Registration with SACSSP
Key Performance Areas:
- Financial Management – Develop a monthly plan of stationary requirements for each CCW. Develop a monthly plan for beneficiary caseloads transport needs, track expenditure and submission of required evidence of the expenditure timeously. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, organizational policies, and donor regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Management – Work closely with the Nurses to navigate access to facilities to ensure beneficiaries receive the necessary care. Participate in case conferences of allocated caseloads, and any stakeholder meetings/engagements that will lead to the benefit of the beneficiaries.
- Product and Services
Supportive supervision of CCWs
Ensure training and compliance of programming, including Child Safeguarding and trafficking in persons policies and procedures. Ensure contracts and job-profiles are signed and filed with HR Head office. Provide supportive supervision and guidance to implement appropriate case management and bidirectional referrals aligned to ACHIEVE’s objectives.
Documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping:
Document supervision and support. Review case files and ensure record keeping according to program standards. Compile, submit and where applicable present reports and presentations to give feedback on progress made.
Management of Data quality:
Conduct file validations for all program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of information.
Conduct participants validations (telephonic, home visits) to ensure program authenticity is maintained. - Internal Organisational Processes- Comply with HIVSA Policies and processes.
