HIVSA is a not for profit company which was established in 2002, and is a recognised training provider and a strategic partner of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Social Development (DSD) in Gauteng Province, with funding support from USAID and PEPFAR. It has two focus areas: health systems strengthening and community strengthening. HIVSA specializes in designing, implementing and monitoring health and community systems strengthening initiatives and programs to mitigate the negative impact of HIV and contribute to an HIV-free generation.
Choma online magazine is a project of HIVSA, which was developed in 2013, in recognition of the high burden of HIV infection experienced by adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. The magazine aims to empower girls and young women with the information and resources related to health, love and relationships, inspiration, sex and pregnancy, and fashion and beauty.
